Martin Phillipps, frontman of New Zealand post-punk band The Chills, has died aged 61.
The band confirmed on their official social media accounts that he died “unexpectedly”. No explanation for demise has been given.
“It’s with damaged hearts that the household and buddies of Martin Phillipps want to advise Martin has died unexpectedly,” the assertion started.
“The household ask for privateness right now.
“Funeral preparations shall be suggested in the end.”
Because the band’s vocalist and guitarist, Phillipps fronted one of many key bands within the New Zealand post-punk motion.
