NPR Music’s Daoud Tyler-Ameen and Sheldon Pearce dig deep into the newest launch by bassist Meshell Ndegeocello, who, greater than 30 years into her profession, continues to soften the boundaries between genres. Her newest album, No Extra Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin, is being launched on the centennial of the delivery of the writer and activist, and overflows with musical, political and historic concepts.
