One thing actually magical occurs when a band mixes excessive quantity with excessive repetition. Once you add atypical melodies, tones, and time signatures the result’s a wildly transcendental, disorienting and psychedelic listening expertise. Few folks do it in addition to Horse Lords.
I first heard about Horse Lords from EricPh’s publish on this website again in 2015 and was instantly drawn in. I immediately knew this was the music I needed in my life. The mixing of polyrhythms and microtonality of West Africa with the propulsion of krautrock and the depth of one of the best stay punk band you’ve ever seen. This can be a ferocious stay band.
Over the hour lengthy set Horse Lords marched by way of a lot of the fabric on their wonderful, new stay file, “Because it Occurred: Horse Lords Reside”.
