The Los Angeles indie pop band James Supercave had one essential rule when it got here to engaged on their newest album, GIMMICK: Each track needed to be written collectively and in-person. Lead singer and producer Joaquin Pastor noticed it as an opportunity to make a file that felt actually current.

So, he and his bandmates Patrick Logothetti and Andrés Villalobos went out to Joshua Tree Nationwide Park, away from the stretched out cacophony of LA and performed with a myriad of sounds and genres from psychedelic to indie pop.

On this session, James Supercave joins us for a mini-concert recorded dwell at Chrome Sparks’ studio.
